LA GAVROCHE

Gavroche was the poor urchin who hustled the streets of 19th-century Paris in Victor Hugo's novel Les Misérables. Despite his tragic death at the age of 12, his oversized cap and tattered rags made him a style icon.
The rustic tweeds and chimneysweep colours that this brave little kid transformed into a fashion statement are tomorrow's answer to the indigestible looks of Paris Hilton. Out with the dressed-up Chihuahuas; here comes the boyish look!
However, forget about the misery side of our cap-wearing hero. After he won the lottery, his wardrobe was mended and dry cleaned to conform to the latest preppy fashion standards.
